Logo Aesthetic Guidelines
The Take Back The Night Foundation ("Foundation") is a 501(c)(3),
publicly-funded, non-profit organization that seeks to end sexual
violence in all of its forms including sexual assault, sexual abuse,
dating violence, and domestic violence. The Foundation gratefully
accepts donations from individuals and businesses, using them to
fund its events and initiatives.
The Foundation is responsible for maintaining the Foundation
Logo(s), Name and/or Slogan(s) (“Foundation Mark(s)”). By
following our Trademark Usage Terms and Conditions, you help us
protect the goodwill associated with the Foundation Marks, as well
as the grassroots nature of the TBTN Movement. To use the
Foundation Mark(s), you must complete the following Trademark Usage
Application (“Application”). By completing this Application
and initialing each line item below, or by downloading or using
Foundation Mark(s), you agree to adhere to the following guidelines:
- If you have permission to display the Foundation Marks on
your website, you must hyperlink the Mark(s) to the Foundation
Home Page, TakeBackTheNight.org.
In situations where a hyperlink is not possible, you must include
the URL of the Foundation Website immediately beside or below
the Foundation Mark(s).
- The Foundation Logo must appear by itself or with only the
Foundation URL, with a minimum spacing (built into the Logo)
between each side of the image and any other graphic or textual
elements on your web page. You may not create a frame
or border environment around the Foundation logo.
- You may not alter the Foundation Logo in any manner, including
size, proportions, colors, elements, and so forth, or animate,
morph, or otherwise distort its perspective or appearance.
- Your use may not be obscene or pornographic, and may not
be disparaging, defamatory, or libelous to the Foundation, any
of its products, events, initiatives, or services, or any other
person or entity.
- You may not present false or misleading information about
the Foundation products, events, initiatives or services, or
any other person or entity.
- Your use may not directly or indirectly imply the Foundation’s
sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement of your event, unless
your organization is a designated participant in an official
Foundation event.
- Your use may not infringe upon any Foundation intellectual
property (“IP”) or other rights, may not violate any state or
federal laws, and must comply with international IP laws.
- Your reference to the Foundation, its products, and its
website must comply with the TBTN Foundation Terms of Use, available
at TakeBackTheNight.org/tou.html.
- If you have permission to use the Foundation Mark(s) on
items to be sold, including but not limited to shirts, posters,
and/or stickers; or if you are raising funds or selling items
at an event that uses Foundation Mark(s) in its title, all proceeds
must be donated directly to the Take Back The Night Foundation.
- These guidelines do not give you permission to use any Foundation
logos, images, slogans, or trademarks including those relating
to specific events or initiatives other than as indicated on
your approved Application. The Foundation reserves the
right in its sole discretion to terminate or modify your use
of the Foundation Mark(s) at any time.
If you would like
to provide a link from your website to a Foundation web page (for
example, to TakeBackTheNight.org),
you may use a textual URL or one of the Web Logos, as appropriate.
You may not use the Foundation Logo or any related logo(s) or graphic(s)
to link to the Foundation Home Page or any other Foundation web
page without obtaining written permission.
