What is a Take Back The Night Chapter?
TBTN Chapters carry out the mission of Take Back The Night (TBTN). Uniting their own communities to support survivors and end sexual violence, they plan Events and initiatives to meet their local needs.
Chapters are based at colleges, universities, and high schools; in cities and towns; and on military bases. Organizations and corporations also form TBTN Chapters to demonstrate their commitment to standing against sexual violence.
Diverse and inclusive, Chapters have 5+ committed members. Chapters welcome and embrace all races, ethnicities, genders, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, faiths and religious beliefs, socioeconomic backgrounds, age groups, disability statuses, citizenship statuses, political beliefs, and national origins.
Engaging their communities through in-person or online Events, each Chapter holds one or more TBTN Events per year. Most hold an awareness-raising Event, and many also hold an Event to fundraise for TBTN. All Chapters and their members belong to our global network of survivors and supporters, sharing their collective and individual talent, energy, and passion!
