What is a Take Back The Night Chapter?

TBTN Chapters support the work of the Take Back The Night Foundation (TBTNF) in its charitable mission to end sexual violence and support survivors.  Through its Chapters and Events, TBTNF unites activists, survivors, and all those committed to our cause in over 30 countries and 1000 communities around the world.

Chapters are based at colleges, universities, and high schools; in cities and towns; and on military bases. Organizations and corporations form TBTN Chapters to demonstrate their commitment to ending sexual violence and supporting survivors.

Diverse and inclusive, each TBTN Chapter is comprised of at least 10 committed members. Chapters welcome and embrace all races, ethnicities, genders, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, faiths and religious beliefs, socioeconomic backgrounds, age groups, disability statuses, citizenship statuses, political beliefs, and national origins.

United in their commitment to TBTNF’s mission, each Chapter has its own goal for raising awareness, providing advocacy and affecting change as suits the needs of their community.  All Chapters hold at least two Events per year: one to raise awareness and one to fundraise for the Foundation.  Chapters and their members join with the Foundation to attend our energizing and inspiring global virtual Events, to receive our newsletters, and to share their collective and individual talent, energy, and passion with our entire membership!
