Take Back The Night is seeking presenters for upcoming TBTN Global Virtual Events. If you can speak to any of the following, or have an idea for an additional topic, we welcome your application.
- Personal survivor story
- Poetry or spoken word – especially on topics of empowerment, healing, etc.
- Artistic expression – original songs, artistic works, etc.
- Grounding exercise – to open and/or close the Event
- Legal support or options for survivors
- Emotional support or options for survivors
- Title IX
- How sexual violence affects your community (example: racial groups, LGBTQ+, etc.)
- Global efforts to end sexual violence

Event Presenters
Amy Tilton (She/Her)
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, TAKE BACK THE NIGHT
Amy serves as the Assistant Director for Take Back The Night. Amy coordinates the biannual TBTN Global Virtual Event and manages the TBTN Gear Shop. She provides technical direction to participants and volunteers for national TBTN projects and events, such as the Shine Your Light Yoga Festival. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences and professional experience in the medical field, Amy brings a passion for wellness to TBTN. Amy is also the Client Services Director for Campus Outreach Services, where she brings educational programs to schools on Health & Wellness issues, including Consent & Healthy Relationships.
Ray Epstein (She/Her)
TEMPLE UNIVERSITY TAKE BACK THE NIGHT CHAPTER FOUNDER
Ray currently attends Temple University where she is majoring in English with a concentration in creative writing, minoring in sociology and gender studies. Growing up surrounded by activism, Ray was inspired to start “Student Activists Against Sexual Assault” (SAASA) at her university, upon discovering the absence of any advocacy group on her campus. She hopes to one day attend law school, and work to enhance and promote proper restorative justice.
Renee Williams (She/Her)
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, NATIONAL CENTER FOR VICTIMS OF CRIME
Renée is the Executive Director of the National Center for Victims of Crime. She also serves as the Director of the National Crime Victim Bar Association, an affiliate program of the National Center. Renée is seasoned in nonprofit leadership, also serving as a board member for Athena International and Voices in Action. Renée is passionate and stays connected to the community as well. She mentors through Big Brothers Big Sisters, volunteers at Children’s National Hospital, and advocates for children as a court-appointed special advocate. For these efforts, she has been recognized as an Athena Young Professional Finalist, named one of Pittsburgh’s 40 under 40, and received a Jefferson Award. Renée completed her undergraduate studies in theatre arts at Point Park University and subsequently received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law.
Zabie Yamasaki (She/Her)
FOUNDER, TRANSCENDING SEXUAL TRAUMA THROUGH YOGA
Zabie Yamasaki, M.Ed., RYT is the Founder of Transcending Sexual Trauma through Yoga which is an organization that offers trauma-informed yoga to survivors, consultation for universities and trauma agencies, and training for healing professionals. Zabie has trained thousands of yoga instructors and mental health professionals, and her trauma-informed yoga program and curriculum is now being implemented at over 30 college campuses and trauma agencies. She has worked with thousands of survivors to support them in their healing journey, ground them in their own worthiness and remind them they are inherently whole. She is the author of the book and affirmation deck: Trauma-Informed Yoga for Survivors of Sexual Assault: Practices for Healing and Teaching with Compassion and children’s book: Your Joy is Beautiful.
Jennifer Gellock, PhD (She/Her)
POET & FOUNDER, INWARD ATHLETE
Dr. Jennifer Gellock is a poet, transformational guide for visionary leaders, and the Founder of Inward Athlete. She is a former Assistant Professor of Sport Management and left her role as an academic in May of 2023 to pursue entrepreneurship full-time as an author and mentor. Her first book, Half of Me: An Inward Journey Back Home to Wholeness is a thematic memoir that houses her first collection of poetry that brought her internal resolution and opened-up her heart. She now uses her lived experiences and background in teaching and research to activate and facilitate increased self-awareness and acceptance for her clients and audiences to live fully authentic and expressed lives.
Kiley Woods (She/Her)
TBTN VOLUNTEER & STUDENT, ECKERD COLLEGE
Kiley Woods is a student at a small liberal arts college in Florida. She is a historian, survivor, advocate, and avid reader who has been volunteering with TBTN for about a year. Her passion for advocacy work comes from her own survivor story, survivor stories from friends, and a need to change the narrative surrounding sexual violence. When she is not studying, she is reading, writing poetry, or walking around campus to see dolphins in the bay.
Josha Gupta (He/Him)
SCHOOL CAPTAIN, READING SCHOOL
Josha Gupta, 17, is the School Captain at Reading School in the UK, an all-boys selective state school. He leads a collaborative project involving neighbouring schools. The project’s objective is to explore different perspectives on a single-sex educational environment and address any potentially harmful misconceptions around sexism and sexual violence that can arise from being in an all-boys environment through one’s teenaged years. Josha hopes to extend this project to include a broader age range, whilst also inspiring more local schools to become involved, creating a safe and inclusive space for growth through sharing experiences and discussing topics which may be new to many young teens.
Jonathan Vaughn (He/Him)
AUTHOR, ADVOCATE, & ENTREPRENEUR
Jon is a former professional football player who was a running back and kick returner in the National Football League (NFL) for four seasons (1991-1994) for the Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs. Jon revealed in July 2020 that he had been sexually abused by late University of Michigan doctor, Robert E. Anderson (1928-2008) after allegations began emerging about the physician in February 2020. Vaughn became active in efforts to hold the university accountable, including speaking about bills aimed at removing barriers that would allow victims of Anderson to sue the university. One of his most high-profile activities includes camping outside the home of then-University of Michigan President Mark Schlissel in October 2021. In 2022, The Foundation for Global Sports Development (GSD) honored Jon with its prestigious Humanitarian Award.
Josh Rubin (He/Him)
PRESIDENT OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS, PAVE
Joshua C. Rubin, JD, MBA, MPH, MPP is the Program Officer for Learning Health System Initiatives at the University of Michigan Medical School Department of Learning Health Sciences. His research focuses on Learning Health Systems (LHSs), especially as drivers of patient empowerment as well as public health. He is also the Executive Director of the Joseph H. Kanter Family Foundation. Rubin is an Associate Editor for the journal of Learning Health Systems published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. In pro bono capacities, he serves as the Founding President and CEO of the Learning Health Community, as the President of the Board of Directors of Promoting Awareness | Victim Empowerment (PAVE), and as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Singula Institute.
